A CELEBRATION OF VERMONT WOMEN MAKING CHANGEOver $30,000 invested in Vermont women and girls!
On May 13th, an enthusiastic crowd of 200 people gathered at the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms to support the work of the Women's Fund and celebrate Vermont women. It was a fun and vibrant evening, and we are pleased to have received terrific feedback from attendees with the word “inspiring” as a common thread among the remarks. The goals for this annual event are to celebrate women and girls as they work to build strong, healthy and secure lives; to recognize the vital programming of organizations that are helping them achieve that success; and to inspire people to take an active role in securing the future of their communities by investing in the women of our state. Highlights of the event included a spotlight on Vermont women cheese-makers, displays from VWF grantees, and a special presentation of the 2010 Holly D. Miller Awards with stories from each of this year's three award winners. As The Vermont Women's Fund's largest fundraising event of the year, the Celebration is integral to our continued success as a funder, collaborator, and resource regarding women's issues in Vermont. We are pleased to announce that through the generous support of our donors, event attendees and business sponsors, over $30,000 was raised as an investment in Vermont women. This is a shining example of the collective power of giving! Our sincere thanks to everyeone who helped make the Celebration a tremendous success.
