Maureen Dowd, winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary, became a New York Times Op-Ed columnist in 1995 after having served as a correspondent in the paper’s Washington bureau since 1986. Ms. Dowd has covered seven presidential campaigns, served as the Times’ White House correspondent, and wrote “On Washington,” a column for The New York Times Magazine. She is the author of the Times bestsellers Bushworld (2004) and Are Men Necessary? When Sexes Collide (2005). In addition to The New York Times, Ms. Dowd has written for GQ, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, The New Republic, and others.
